TCA CROSS
- TCA CROSS is a skin resurfacing technique for acne scars, especially effective for ice pick scars, utilizing high-concentration trichloroacetic acid (TCA), usually 50-100%. This method is performed by pressing an instrument soaked in TCA solution onto the entire depressed area of the scar to initiate an inflammatory process and stimulate collagen proliferation, helping to fill the scar.
- Currently, TCA CROSS is a method with substantial clinical evidence of high efficacy on ice pick scars. Dermatologists often combine TCA CROSS with other treatment methods to optimize acne scar treatment results.
Scar subcision with Needle
- This method uses the sharp edges of a Nokor needle or a medical needle to sever the fibrous bands causing skin surface tethering. Nokor is a specialized needle for acne scar subcision, with the advantage of completely cutting the fibrous bands while limiting skin tissue damage compared to using a regular injection needle tip.
- The needle acne scar subcision method strongly stimulates the body's natural healing process, while releasing the skin surface from the underlying tissue layer and increasing collagen production to effectively restore and restructure the acne-scarred skin area.
- The needle acne scar subcision technique at Doctor Acnes Clinic is directly performed by a Dermatologist to bring optimal results in acne scar treatment. This method has been proven to yield high efficacy in treating rolling scars.

Scar subcision with Cannula
- The acne scar subcision technique utilizing a Cannula needle features a blunt-tip design, thereby avoiding blood vessels and nerves during the subcision process.
- The needle can penetrate deeply and sever deep subcutaneous fibrous bands while ensuring absolute safety. Cannula acne scar subcision has been proven to achieve higher scar-filling efficacy than conventional subcision, especially in cases of extensive rolling scars. This method activates the body's healing process, while releasing the skin surface from the underlying tissue layer and increasing collagen production to effectively restore and restructure the acne-scarred skin area.
Pneumatic scar subcision
- Pneumatic scar subcision is a technique that uses a high-pressure stream of pure CO2 gas to break the fibrous bands beneath the scar base, helping release scar tissue and support skin matrix restructuring. This method does not use needles like traditional subcision but applies specialized pneumatic technology from the Trifill Pro device.
- Compared to needle subcision, this method is typically less painful, reduces the risk of widespread swelling and bruising, and provides a gentler sensation during the procedure.
- Pneumatic scar subcision is commonly indicated for long-standing acne scars, deep scars, or enlarged pores, and is particularly effective when treatment is needed over a wide area. When combined with fractional CO2 laser, RF microneedling, or skin peels, this technique helps enhance skin resurfacing efficacy and shortens the time to achieve visible results.

Microneedling for scar treatment
Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin resurfacing technique that uses multiple ultra-sharp, sterile micro-needles to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin, while releasing growth factors.
The process stimulates a cascade of wound-healing responses by enhancing the production of endogenous collagen and elastin fibers to fill the scars.
Microneedling also helps deliver active ingredients such as growth factors deeper into the skin, shortening scar treatment time. Microneedling has been proven more effective on rolling scars and boxcar scars than on ice pick scars. At Doctor Acnes, this method is preferentially prescribed by doctors for mild to moderate cases requiring fast recovery time.
RF microneedling
RF microneedling is an effective, minimally invasive acne scar treatment suitable for many skin types. This technique uses RF (radiofrequency) waves combined with microneedles to penetrate deeply into the skin without damaging the surrounding tissue.
Heat from RF helps contract existing collagen fibers and stimulate new collagen remodeling, tightening the skin and improving acne scars. This method requires a number of treatments, typically lasting a few weeks to several months depending on the skin condition, but the efficacy can be long-lasting due to the structural regeneration of the skin from within.
At Doctor Acnes, this method is prioritized for dark skin because, according to studies, RF microneedling reduces the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) compared to fractional CO2 laser. Simultaneously, this technique helps shorten downtime compared to other methods.

Dual-wavelength Deka DUOGlide fractional laser
- DUOGlide laser is a major breakthrough combining two wavelengths, 10,600nm and 1,540nm. This technology completely overcomes the disadvantages of older fractional laser lines, such as high abrasiveness, pain, long downtime, and hyperpigmentation risks.
- The combination of 10,600nm CO2 and 1,540nm lasers allows DUOGlide to maximize the advantages of both ablative and non-ablative lasers, removing old scar tissue and stimulating the regeneration of collagen and elastin to fill acne scars.
- The device also allows precise adjustment of depth and beam density, optimizing treatment efficacy while ensuring absolute safety for the skin.
Fractional CO2 laser
- Fractional CO2 laser is the gold standard in skin resurfacing and acne scar treatment thanks to its 10,600nm wavelength, which vaporizes damaged tissue and stimulates collagen production to fill scars. However, treatment efficacy depends not only on the method but also on device quality.
- At Doctor Acnes, we utilize advanced, US FDA-cleared fractional CO2 laser devices from Lutronic and Deka, outstanding for their high precision and perfect adjustment of laser beam density and depth. This optimizes collagen regeneration and scar filling, delivering safe and effective results.
- Investment in high-end equipment is our commitment to ensuring the best acne scar treatment results for our customers.

Fractional Picosecond laser
- Fractional Picosecond laser is a breakthrough in skin resurfacing technology, utilizing ultra-short laser pulses measured in trillionths of a second (1 picosecond = 10-12 seconds) to accurately and effectively target scar tissue without causing thermal damage to surrounding skin tissues.
- With deep penetration capability, the 1064nm wavelength stimulates collagen and elastin production, supporting skin regeneration and fading scars, while simultaneously resurfacing and rejuvenating the skin, reducing wrinkles, and increasing firmness to bring an even-toned and youthful complexion.
- This technology creates an optimal photomechanical effect without damaging the outer skin layer, providing a gentle and comfortable treatment while shortening recovery time.
- At Doctor Acnes, the Discovery Pico laser system from Italy, approved by the US FDA, delivers optimal treatment efficacy. Although the acne scar clearance of the fractional Picosecond laser is not as high as that of the fractional CO2 laser, this method still holds an aesthetic advantage with short downtime, safety for sensitive skin, and improvement across various scar types.
Skin peeling for scar treatment
Skin peeling for scar treatment is a resurfacing method using medium peeling agents such as salicylic acid or trichloroacetic acid (TCA) to act on the dermis layer of the skin, creating controlled surface injuries and stimulating collagen proliferation, thereby indirectly filling the scars.
Acne scar treatment using skin peeling must be prescribed by a Dermatologist to select the correct agent, peeling concentration, procedure time, and number of peeling sessions to achieve the desired treatment efficacy while minimizing the risk of unwanted side effects.

Mesotherapyfor scar treatment
Mesotherapy for scar treatment is a method that uses micro-injection techniques to deliver regenerative active ingredients directly into the dermis, where the scar forms, to stimulate collagen proliferation, repair damaged tissue, and improve skin structure.
At Doctor Acnes, this method is individualized according to the scar condition and skin background, featuring outstanding mesotherapy protocols:
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) Mesotherapy
PRP is a biologic product separated from the customer's own blood, rich in platelets and growth factors. When injected into the base of acne scars, PRP stimulates fibroblasts, promotes the synthesis of collagen and extracellular matrices, helping to fill scars, restore skin, and noticeably improve elasticity.

Exosome Mesotherapy
Exosomes are extracellular vesicles containing growth factors, peptides, amino acids, and RNA, featuring a nano-size and a regenerative stimulation capability multiple times higher than that of stem cells. Injecting exosomes helps increase scar-healing capacity, promote collagen deposition, and rapidly improve damaged skin areas.

Salmon DNA Mesotherapy (PDRN)
Utilizing sodium DNA extracted from salmon milt, this therapy supports anti-oxidation, regenerates damaged tissue, and increases skin density. Typical products like BOMBIT PDRN ampoule or INFINI PREMIUM PDRN help improve post-acne scars, hydrate, smooth the skin, reduce wrinkles, and increase elasticity.
Polynucleotide Mesotherapy (PN)
Polynucleotide (PN) is a biological nucleotide chain with a higher molecular weight than PDRN, providing superior skin regeneration and repair compared to PDRN. When injected into the acne scar area, PN stimulates collagen and elastin proliferation, repairs damaged cells, fills depressed scars, and restores a healthy skin foundation. It is suitable for skin currently recovering from laser, subcision, or RF microneedling.

Biostimulator injections
Biostimulator injections is a method using biological active ingredients capable of continuously and extensively stimulating collagen and elastin proliferation, helping regenerate the skin foundation from deep within and supporting the filling of long-standing acne scars.
At Doctor Acnes, two common types of biostimulators utilized in scar treatment are Radiesse and PDLLA/ PLLA powder.

Radiesse
- Radiesse is a semi-permanent biostimulatory filler containing calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) combined with a hydrated CMC gel. When injected into the acne scar area, Radiesse provides an immediate tissue-lifting effect, while continuously stimulating long-term collagen and elastin production, yielding noticeable improvement right after injection.
- This method is suitable for deeply depressed scar areas, thin or fragile skin, or skin recovering from therapies such as subcision, laser, or RF microneedling.
PDLLA/ PLLA powder
- The powder thread is a form of biological microspheres synthesized from poly-D,L-lactic acid (PDLLA)/ poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), capable of activating continuous collagen proliferation in the scar area. When injected into the scar base, the microspheres dissolve slowly, stimulating the repair of damaged tissue and supporting skin structure from within.
- This method is particularly effective for long-standing acne scars, deep boxcar scars, or cases that are difficult to improve with conventional therapies.
